As I was not qualified to be an athlete or volunteer at the sports meeting, I only spent a morning on the stadium. On the second day of the sports meeting, as a lucky spectator, I was led along with several other students to an empty field next to the stadium to cheer for the tug-of-war team of FLS. The opponents of the tug-of-war competition were from School of Mathematics and Statistic. My roommate whispered to me that the School of Mathematics and Statistics always has an overall control in the sports meeting. “Seriously?” I thought, but the opponents soon proved that their slogan ‘powerhouse in life’ was true. The game ended in several minutes. The FLS team just passively be pulled forward in the competition, and there wasn’t even a seesawing process.
我远非运动健将，校运会志愿者也没有选上，所以整个运动会期间，我只在操场呆了一个上午。在运动会的第二天上午，我作为被选中的幸运观众，和其他几位同学一起被带到体育馆旁的一片空地上给外院拔河队呐喊助威。外院的对手来自数统学院，我舍友悄悄地说，数统学院在校运会上总是全场制霸。我心里有点怀疑，但是数统学院很快就证明了她们就像数院口号所讲的那样，是“人生强者”。这场拔河比赛几分钟就结束了，在两次拔河中，外院队伍只是无力地被拉向前方，比赛中甚至没有拉锯的过程。
Well, actually FLS did a good job in the sports meeting, especially when not competing with SMS. After the tug-of-war competition, I went back to bleachers. It seemed that there was holding a women’s long distance race. I soon realized it’s already half way through the game, and it’s hard to find out who’s taking the lead, for you don’t know how many laps had they ran. There was a girl from FLS who caught my eyes, you know, most people have grim expression on their face when they’re running a long distance, but this girl looked so easy and chill, passing athletes one by one. Not only me, but also many students around me were so impressed by her elegance, and I learned that she was the one who’s taking the lead. Undoubtedly she was the first to stop at the finishing line.
但其实外院在运动会中取得的成绩还不错，尤其是不和数统学院较量的时候。拔河比赛结束后，我回到看台上。操场上好像在举行女子长跑项目，我很快发现比赛可能已经过半，这时候很难看出谁领先-----我连大家跑了多少圈都不知道。但在场上有个外院的女生格外引人瞩目，众所周知，大家跑长跑的时候表情总是很痛苦很狰狞，但这位运动员的表情却很平静，一脸轻松地超过一个又一个选手。不仅仅是我，大家都被她长跑时的优雅轻松所折服，我终于从别人那知道了她就是远远领先于别人的选手。最后，她毫无悬念地第一个在终点停下，赢得了比赛的第一名。
To me, the sports meeting didn’t come to an end until the Sunday noon. I attended the voluntary labor activity held by FLS to clean up all the bleachers of the stadium, which I thought would be a hard work, but in fact our group finished the cleaning within half an hour. Gaining 2 voluntary credit hours with a 30-minute work, I felt like the sunny winter day was actually a holiday for me.
对我而言，运动会直到星期日的中午才正式结束。我参加了外院举办的义务劳动活动，要去清扫体育场的看台。我原以为这是个重活，但我们小组只用了不到半个小时就完成了任务。只干了半个小时的活却手握两个小时的劳动学时，我发自内心地觉得这晴朗的冬日就像过节一般美好。
