I actually rarely got involved in this kind of occasion, you know, as a person who don’t have much sense of sports. But there, in CCNU, I couldn’t find any excuses to turn it down , for it seemed that this was an event that could make everyone participate in.
I supposed that the tasks of volunteers were just handing water bottles and cheering up. But taking part in the opening ceremony, that was a little bit out of my imagination. However, I’ve registered for a position, so just abided by the arrangements of the Student Union. Having undergone the training for a week and several rushing lunch time (as the conditioning always occupied my time for lunch and afternoon naps),I had to recognize that the final effects could be called amazing and all of us achieved a sense of proud and satisfaction. But our work was far beyond that, following that we received another mission—— running with the athletes. It was already difficult enough for me to catch up, let alone raising a huge flag of our school simultaneously —— the flag was able to prevent you from going forward. “You know, it was just for its marvelous scene.”said one of my roommates,”But from the auditorium where I was seated, you can even describe this as a visual feast.”Well, for comments like this, my hard-working was just worthwhile.
Apart from that, as a member of the Voice of CCNU, I got a task of assisting the spot coverage. However things didn’t go smoothly as my imagination. It was dramatically embarrassing to be replied as “Oh, I’m a teacher so just go and make interviews with others”, that sort of words. Having been refused for several times, I felt overwhelmingly frustrated since I was not such a helpful person who I had supposed to. Still, in the end, we obtained something valuable.
I have never thought that the sports meeting would be a period when I ought to manage to get by and which made me quite exhausted. My original stereotypes of sports meetings have been totally renewed, and people who are not enthusiastic about sports (such as someone like me) would also be able to find a proper position in such a great event and immerse themselves in. Moreover, it seemed that everyone would be embraced by the stage of the world and seated in an appropriate place as if this time.
