To thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, earnestly implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and all its subsequent plenary sessions, and further improve the quality and efficiency of postgraduate ideological and political work. In March 2026, the School of Sociology carried out targeted, hierarchical, segmented, and classified thematic ideological and political education for postgraduate groups with different academic systems and grades. It closely integrated education and guidance with career development, promoting the standardized, institutionalized, and high-quality development of thematic ideological and political education for postgraduates.
At the beginning of the new semester, to fully understand the study and living conditions of students after their return to school and accurately grasp their growth and planning needs for the new semester, on the afternoon of March 4th, Zeng Yanmei, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Sociology, together with two professional teacher representatives including Liu Jie and Guo Zhitian, and Zhai Juan, postgraduate counselor, went deep into the dormitories of postgraduates of all grades to carry out a dormitory visit activity for the new semester. This dormitory visit at the beginning of the new semester is a specific measure for the college to practice the student-oriented education philosophy. It extends the education front from the classroom to the dormitory, shortens the distance between teachers and students, and strengthens dormitory safety and daily management.

On the morning of March 6th, the 2025 Master's Class in Sociology of the School of Sociology held a new semester class meeting. With the theme of "Uniting Hearts and Minds, Galloping Forward Like Steeds", the students reviewed their winter vacation experiences, focused on hot news, and gained growth suggestions for the new semester. The entire class meeting was both warm and in-depth, just like a "happy little horse" galloping briskly on the field of the new semester.
On the morning of March 17th, the 2025 Master's Class in Social Work of the School of Sociology held a new semester class meeting with the theme of "A New Journey Has Begun, Marching Forward Unceasingly" in Classroom 912 of the college. This class meeting directly addressed the academic and career development puzzles that students may face in the new stage, and carefully designed three links: internship planning guidance, thesis writing experience sharing, and new semester outlook and mobilization, aiming to clarify the direction for students, alleviate anxiety, and inject motivation.
On the morning of March 19th, the Huishenghui Social Education Studio of the School of Sociology held a new semester thematic class meeting for the 2024 Master's Class in Sociology at the One-stop Student Community in Building 4 of the International Exchange Center, integrating care and guidance into daily life and putting them into practice. He Guoxi, a 2025 doctoral student, was specially invited to share thesis writing experience, and all master's students of the 2024 grade in Sociology participated. This class meeting was rich in content and highly targeted. It was not only a vivid practice of the Huishenghui Social Education Studio taking root in the student community and meeting the growth needs of students, but also provided practical help for students in academic guidance and career planning, further enhancing the class cohesion.



On the afternoon of March 11th, Zeng Yanmei, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Sociology of Central China Normal University, together with more than 40 teachers and students, went to Tencent Wuhan R&D Center to carry out an activity of visiting enterprises to expand jobs and professional practice. During the student exchange, Luo Wenbin, Recruitment Manager of Tencent Central China Region, gave detailed guidance on career positioning, resume optimization and interview skills, providing a clear direction for students' future job hunting. Many students actively asked questions about industry development trends and job capability requirements. In the future, the college will continue to deepen the integration of industry and education, constantly expand school-enterprise cooperation channels, enrich the forms of practical education, and effectively improve the quality of employment.

On the afternoon of March 11th, the 8th Session of the "Guizi Group Sociology Youth Workshop" was held in Room 715, North Building of the Liberal Arts Building. Peng Xuzheng, a 2025 doctoral student, and Zhang Zhiqiang, a 2024 doctoral student, shared their respective theses. Teachers Han Yi, Wei Haitao, Wan Renxue, and Wang Minghao, a 2025 doctoral student, served as reviewers and put forward their respective opinions and suggestions. This activity not only helped students broaden their ideological horizons, but also provided a communication platform for teachers and students to dialogue with ancient sages and peers.
On March 28, the Party Branch of 2024 Postgraduate Students in Sociology organized all Party members to visit Yunmeng County for a Party-building activity themed "Inheriting the Culture of Filial Piety and Integrity, Practicing a Correct View on Achievements".During the activity, the branch held discussions focusing on "integrity construction, cultivation of a family culture of filial piety, and a correct view on achievements".Combining their experience from the visit and their professional studies, the Party members stated that they would take this "mobile Party class" as an opportunity to draw nourishment from the culture of filial piety and integrity, keep firmly in mind the core requirements of a correct view on achievements, integrate the family virtue of filial piety into daily life, uphold integrity and self-discipline, and effectively translate their learning outcomes into concrete actions to fulfill their duties and motivation for professional research.

Based on the actual feedback from postgraduate students, the School of Sociology has explored targeted ideological and political education for postgraduates centered on their career development. It has promoted the standardized, regular and long-term development of thematic ideological and political education for postgraduates, and improved the quality and effectiveness of the college's ideological and political work.
