To strengthen collaboration between class advisors and counselors and enhance the effectiveness of education, the School of Law held a work exchange symposium for class advisors and counselors in Conference Room 313 on March 23.Wan Cong, Deputy Secretary of the School Party Committee, Sun Siyu, Zhou Lin, Zhao Song, Tao Wenting, Zhang Gang, Xiong Linman, Li Yunda, Tan Jiachao, Chen Wei, Chen Li, Yin Zi (undergraduate class advisors), and Jiang Xiaowen, He Qingmiao, Jiao Xiuqi, Gao Tingyi (undergraduate counselors) attended the meeting.
At the symposium, class advisors held in-depth discussions focusing on typical issues and challenges in class management, including class atmosphere and academic ethos development, support for students with academic difficulties, identification and intervention of students’ psychological crises, care for students from special groups, and other related matters. Class advisors of graduating students exchanged views with other teachers on topics such as supervision of graduation theses, mindset adjustment for postgraduate entrance examination and employment, and employment support for students, while sharing their experience and reflections on academic guidance. Class advisors of lower-grade students discussed with others how to boost students’ class attendance enthusiasm and stimulate classroom vitality around academic ethos construction. They also shared experience in organizing class reading groups, stressing that students who are interested should be attracted to participate on a voluntary basis. Class advisors of freshmen focused on counseling students’ psychological problems and supporting students in need, sharing experience in educating students during the freshman adaptation period. Based on their own practical work, counselors held further exchanges with class advisors on the above topics.

Wan Cong, Deputy Secretary of the School Party Committee, provided guidance on the difficulties encountered by class advisors in their work and led a study session under the theme "Establish a Correct View of Political Performance and Consolidate the Foundation of Education". He stressed the following points: First, adhere to the combination of strict management and caring support for students, and maintain both principle and warmth in education. Second, continue to strengthen the development of class spirit and academic atmosphere to foster a positive learning environment. Third, focus on employment work for graduating classes, take multiple measures to improve employment quality, integrate the correct view of political performance into the whole process of daily education, management and services, and effectively consolidate the foundation for students’ growth.

This symposium has further consolidated the working consensus between class advisors and counselors and strengthened the joint force for collaborative education. The college will continue to improve the linkage mechanism between class advisors and counselors to support the all-round development of students, and contribute to promoting the high-quality development of the college and the cultivation of legal talents in the new era.
