In order to deeply implement the spirit of the “Opinions on Strengthening Legal Education and Theoretical Research in the New Era” (hereinafter referred to as the “Opinions” ) issued by the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council, and further deepen the co construction work of colleges and universities, on April 17, Cai Qiang, a member of the leading Party group and Director of the Political Department of the Zhuhai Intermediate People’s Court, Deng Shanlin, Deputy Director of the Political Department and a fourth level researcher, Xie Mingyi, a member of the leading Party group and Director of the Political Department (Supervision Office) of the Xiangzhou Court, Zhang Jie, a member of the leading Party group and Director of the Political Department (Party Committee and Supervision Office), Zeng Xi, Deputy Director of the Education and Training Department of the Zhuhai Intermediate People’s Court, came to our college for exchanges. The participants included Yang Chen, Secretary of the College Party Committee, Dean Ding Wen, Wan Zong, Deputy Secretary of the College Party Committee, Vice Deans Wen Jie and Xiao Denghui, Wang Qingjun, Assistant of Dean and Director of Master of Laws Center. The symposium was chaired by Yang Chen.
Ding Wen introduced the basic situation of school and the Law School. He pointed out that CCNU is a comprehensive key university with a long history of development in the field of law. And he introduced from aspects like speciality setting of Law Majors, talent training system and scale, faculty and internship bases. He emphasized that the requirements in “Opinions” should be implemented seriously and hoped to conduct deep cooperation with the two levels of courts in Zhuhai city in aspects like talent cultivation, talent exchange and scientific research.
Cai Qiang invited attendees to watch the city promotional video of Zhuhai and experience its cityscape. He took the excellent alumni of the Law School who worked at the Zhuhai Intermediate People’s Court as an example and fully affirmed college’s quality of talent cultivating. Cai Qiang hoped to invite college teachers to participate in the court lecture hall and provide intellectual support, and hoped to cooperate in training judges, judge assistants and clerks. He also expressed his willingness in providing an excellent internship platform for graduates.
The participants from both sides had frank and enthusiastic communications in aspects around strategic cooperation like scientific research work, internship practice, lectures and teaching, professional training and preaching rule of law.
In his summary, Yang Chen emphasized that the in-depth and comprehensive exchanges at this symposium had laid a solid foundation for strategic cooperation between the two sides and he hoped that both sides could implement the intention of cooperation.
