The Voice of CCNU On the afternoon of April 16th, Cheng Qiming, an alumnus of grade 78 of our college and a physics teacher of Wuhan East Lake Middle School, who is known as the ”moving physics teaching plan museum“ by netizens all over the country, was invited to return to his old school to attend the class meeting themed on “targeted teacher training plan” and the alumni sharing meeting themed on “The Road to Growth” of our school, and bring a report on the topic of “Learning to be a teacher” to the students. The secretary of the college Party committee, Zhang Mingsheng, deputy secretary of the college Party committee, Cao Yang, professor Wu Shaoping, vice president of the school and headteacher of targeted teacher training plan class of grade 22, associate professor Qiao Cuilan, full-time teacher of institute of physics education and headteacher of targeted teacher training plan class of grade 21, the student representatives of each grade and the counselor participated in the activity. This activity was presided over by Ma Ying, the deputy secretary of the college Party committee.

Returning to his alma mater, Mr. Cheng Qiming was also particularly excited, “I feel that the bits and pieces of my studies 45 years ago seem to be yesterday, and I smell the fragrance of the osmanthus tree again, which is the familiar smell of my alma mater, and this is the starting point for me to become a physics teacher.” Mr. Cheng Qiming shared his teaching experience in the past 41 years with teachers and students from three aspects: his understanding of the good teachers with firm ideals and beliefs, moral sentiments, solid knowledge and benevolence, the qualities that new teachers should have, and some suggestions for new teachers, and “supported” the normal university students who are about to enter the workplace. In the report, he vividly told many stories with students like the embarrassment and breakthrough of stepping on the stage 41 years ago, the educational strategies of dealing with naughty students, the methods of doing if students do not complete their homework, the scale to grasp between criticism and encouragement and the keys to step into the hearts of students...
