From 9 o’clock to 16 o’clock on December 5th, the fifth voluntary cultural month of CCNU and seminar of voluntary activities were held at the Gui Zhong Road. The atmosphere was so active that the volunteers were all influenced to get involved in the activities. The colorful display of voluntary fruits attracted a great number of students and teachers to participate.
This activity was held cooperatively by the CCNU Communist Youth League Committee. The activity was aimed at going a step further on institutionalizing, and projectizing voluntary activities, bringing out the leading role of some typical projects, and therefore attracting a wider range of people to support, care for, and participate in voluntary service. During the day, the Youth Volunteer Association of School of Foreign Languages showed the “Sunshine Class” and “the School of Half Past Four” activities to expand the influence of voluntary activities and make more students aware of the excellent activities with characteristics of the School of Foreign Languages, leaving a dynamic and positive impression of students in School of Foreign Languages and building an atmosphere of “Love in CCNU”.
Except for teaching and spreading the daily activities of the School of Foreign Languages, the stall also set two interacting games concerning “fighting the epidemic” and “blood donation”. In the game of the quiz show, participants randomly extracted five pieces of cards and answered the questions. And as long as four of them are right, participants could get the prizes. And after they collected the required medals, they could go to the general information and reception desk to extract the prizes.
In all the awarding Q&A sessions, Some students could speak out the correct answer the minute they saw the questions, showing an astonishing store，while there were also some greenhands who could still successfully avoid the correct answer even after getting the tips twice, which made the spot relaxing. Many of the old and kids were appealed to the stall due to the warm atmosphere, taking part in the games gradually. They were so interested in the knowledge of anti-epidemic and blood donation that they constantly consulted the attendants about the correct answers.
In the game of “the Tree of Different Thoughts”, volunteers combined the characteristics of the School of Foreign Languages and the spreading of knowledge closely. The players were supposed to divergent their thinkings according to the English words on their cards and speak out as many relevant words as they can in one minute. By doing this, not only did students get much knowledge, but also raised the ability to divergent their thoughts and react to emergencies. Compared to the traditional means of spreading the knowledge, the means of playing the games exceedingly inspired people to learn more in their own initiative.
Build our own dreams in the new time, and create a brand- new era by volunteering. The hold of the fifth voluntary culture month of CCNU and seminar of voluntary activities upholds the voluntary spirits of “dedication, friendship, cooperation, and progress”, further raises students passion for voluntary activities. As youth volunteers, we ought to put the swear of “Try our best to serve the people in need without longing for any rewards”. Keep the original aim in our heart, and work for the time.
