The Voice of CCNU At 4am. on October 28th, the first "Communicate with the Champion" activity of Nanhu Cup Sports Culture Festival was held in the 9115 conference room of Nanhu complex building. This activity was sponsored by the Student Affairs Department of the Party committee of CCNU and undertaken by the School of Physical Education and Sports of CCNU. Li Yinhui, a graduate from School of Physical Education and Sports of CCNU and champion of “Nanhu Cup” mixed group competition, was the keynote speaker of the event. Han Junhua, head of the Student Affairs Department of the Party committee of CCNU; Guo Qing, secretary of the Party committee of the Institute of physical education and Deputy Secretary of the Party committee of the Institute of physical education, attended the event nobly. Han Junhua was the host of this activity.

Firstly, Han Junhua took President Xi’s significant directions, emphasizing the importance of PE development for our school. She thought highly of students’ behavior who majoring in School of Physical Education and Sports in the past “Nanhu Cup” Physical Festival, and hoped that the students could learn from Li Yinhui, fight harder, and be more ambitious towards their goals to bring out the best in themselves, and create their own honor.

Li Yinhui went onto the stage to deliver the speech with the warm clapping. To begin with, she briefly introduced the basic information of School of Physical Education and Sports. And then she began to share her growing progress. Born in a family majoring in sports, she almost spent her whole childhood in the stadium. She began to contact with badminton at the age of 5, which turned out to be her favorite after she tried every kind of sport. Li Yinhui was admitted to School of Physical Education and Sports of CCNU in 2014. Then she was selected to the national team and was promised to get the master’s degree of School of Physical Education and Sports by CCNU in 2019.

She got the first prize from the National Sports General Administration, and her team was the champion of Sudirman Cup, she also got the champion of Badminton Doubles of Lady Competitors in the Military World Games. Li Yinhui said that behind those honor were her sweat and effort during the daily exercise. The great challenge of climbing the Xiang Mountain in 21 minutes, and accomplishing over 1000 times of flicking ball won her the honor. However, her path to success was not that smooth, actually, she had also suffered from getting hurt and failure. For example, she accidentally got hurt in the daily train and therefore lost the BWF World Championship. What’s worse, she was forbidden to participate in the game for over a month for no reason. That was the darkest time in Li Yinhui’s life. What she wanted to thank most was that her coach had never abandoned her, and accompanied her until she was cured.  “I would try my best as long as there is one percent hope.” The encouragement from her coach inspired her to be a better man. To chase her shining hobby and reward all the companion and warmth, she got it finally.

After all those things past, the refreshing Li Yunhui opened a new life journey. In the World Championship Contest held in Switzerland, Li Yunhui and her partner won the final success faced with the powerful opponent, Japanese Team owing to their faith of “Chinese never lose”. Good news of Sudirman Cup and Military World Games also came continuously. “The victory belongs to me, as well as my motherland, China.” Her faith of fighting, strong sense of responsibility, and passionate for China led Ler to get victories once and once again.

In the question and answer session that followed, Li Yunhui frankly said that she had ever thought of giving up in the face of a powerful opponent in the competition. However, as long as she stood on the competition field, she would not give up. "As on the battlefield, I would rather die than be a deserter." When asked what it was like to stand on the podium, she replied, "I just wanted to cry." Then she laughed and told us how moved she felt when she stood on the podium. After that, she also answered the questions about champion life and daily training from teachers and students. At the end of the activity, Han Junhua called on the students to learn from Li Yinhui’s patriotic feelings and fighting spirit, and hand in a satisfactory answer sheet for their university life.活动最后,韩君华号召同学们学习李茵晖身上的爱国情怀和拼搏精神,为自己的大学生活交一份满意答卷。(记者 曹紫凌 见习记者 王一垚 图片来源于体育学院融媒体中心丁理浩)
