On the evening of May 24, a special rolling call and graduate sharing session (the third session) of the School of Chemistry was successfully held on the platform bilibili. This activity was sponsored by the committee of the Communist Youth League
of the School of Chemistry, undertaken by the red pomegranate learning and development center of the School of Chemistry and the youth league general branch student union of the School of Chemistry of grade 2017, presided by the counselor of grade 2017, An Xiaolei, and participated by all the undergraduates of grade 2017. In this activity, Peng Linxi, Wei Jiaxi and Wu Leyun from grade 2016 were invited to offer some suggestions on their postgraduate recommendation experience to undergraduates of grade 2017 respectively. At the same time, Yao Qingchen, a probationary member of the red pomegranate party branch of the School of Chemistry, was invited to share his opinions about the "Two Sessions"(NPC&CPPCC).

At the beginning of the activity, An Xiaolei invited Yao Qingchen to do a brief introduction about the recently-held “Two Sessions”. He said,” the year 2020 is the last year of the initial “building a moderately prosperous society in all respects” and the thirteenth Five-Year Plan. What’s more, it is also the decisive year of the fight against poverty. However, we had faced with a serious public health emergency. Under the strong leadership of the CPC central committee with comrade Xi Jinping as the core, the epidemic prevention and control have achieved significant results. The “Two Sessions” of 2020 was not only a summary about past achievements but a deployment of the future economy, it was significant.” Then, setting out from the review and the expectation about the government’s work, he expounded the employment policy and the livelihood issues which were related tightly to our undergraduates.

Then, the outstanding graduates sharing session started formally. The first one was Peng Linxi, who was a student of grade 2016 and now has been recommended into the subject teaching profession of the School of Chemistry of our school. At the beginning, Peng compared her grades of the first five semesters with those of the sixth semester. She encouraged the students not to give up easily. Then, she attached importance to keep one’s own style in postgraduate recommendation, taking postgraduate entrance exams and finding a job. The students need to show themselves to the teachers by using a concise and novel way.

The second student was Wei Jiaxi, who came from the elite class of grade 2016 of the School of Chemistry. Based on her experience of being recommended into the School of Chemistry of Sichuan University, she mainly elaborated some tips during the registering and the attending of the summer camp from three aspects: the previous preparation, the process and the later work. Among all the tips, she reminded the students of the grade 2017 to pay attention to the information of registering in advance and emphasized the importance of the preciseness and carefulness in material preparation. She said,” Taking part in the summer camp is not only on behalf of oneself, but also on behalf of the School of Chemistry of Central China Normal University. We should always regulate our behavior and keep our words. We should not promise easily to the tutor or the school before we make a real decision. In the end, she shared her materials for the postgraduate entrance exams and the contact information of other excellent graduates, hoping to do some help to the students of the grade 2017.

The last student was Wu Leyun, who was a student of the elite class of grade 2016 of the School of Chemistry. And now, she has been recommended into the Shanghai Institute of Material of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). Starting with the experience of the postgraduate recommendation summer camp, she mainly talked about three aspects: the material preparation before the summer camp notice, the matters needing attention at the beginning of the notice and the key points during the interview. She encouraged the students of grade 2017 not to deny themselves form the very beginning and to be brave enough to sign up for the school they want. At the same time, she also shared her interview experience, emphasizing that students should make full preparations in advance, introducing with emphasis the scientific research training she received in university and keeping an optimistic and positive attitude when talking with teachers. Finally, she took Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Sun Yat-sen University, which she was familiar with, as an example to make a comparison, and explained the differences between research institutes and universities to provide guidance for students of grade 2017.

During the process of sharing, many students expressed their opinions and raised their questions on the bullet screen. The students also want to learn deeply about the situation of the postgraduate recommendation and relevant policies of this year. The activity was held successfully. Zhang Zhen, a student who major in the applied chemistry of the grade 2017, expressed,” After listening to the share of the senior, I have realized I still have lots of defects. At the same time, with the encouragement of the senior, I think we should be confident enough of ourselves, set our goals, try our best to make up the gap between ourselves and the goals from now on. What’s more, we should also believe that: everything is possible.”
