On the afternoon of March 23, the 2020 employment meeting for the graduates of the College of Urban and Environmental Sciences (CUES) was held successfully in the online meeting room of Wechat Work.
People presented at the meeting included the secretary of sub Party Committee Liang Zhiqun, dean Ao Rongjun, Chu level organizer Cao Huidong, vice dean Huang Jianwu, Liu Muxing, Xie Shuangyu, chairman of the teachers’ union Li Xingming, headteachers, counsellors, teaching secretaries and graduates in 2020. The online meeting was hosted by the deputy secretary of sub Party Committee Rao Yanping.
The first item of the meeting was the analysis report given by the counsellors Li Miaojing and Zhang Mengxian, which focused on the data information, problems, difficulties and work measures about graduate employment. Li Miaojing paid attention to the job-seeking situations of students from Hubei. Zhang Mengxian emphatically reflected students’ difficulties on completing their thesis and obtaining their employment.
Next, vice dean Huang Jianwu introduced that, the teaching department of the school and the college had made efforts to ensure graduates’ successful graduation. And he answered students’ highly-concerned questions about those work arrangements: completing thesis, copying ratio testing and essay defense. Huang reminded students to communicate more with their thesis advisor to overcome difficulties, thus finishing their papers of good quality in time. The teaching secretory Yang Yi made additional introductions to graduates’ credit examination, explaining the requirements and attentions of graduation credit again.
The third item was the share and report from Li Yajuan, headteacher of Class 1606 of tourism management department. She shared that, apart from reports about the students’ graduation and employment situation, how to guide and help them to graduatefully reflected attentive assistance and consideration from headteachers.
Then, Dingzhen Lamu, the only one student of CUES who stayed at school during the winter vacation, shared what he had seen and heard in those days, expressing his gratitude towards the considerations from the teachers and school. Liao Lanqin, who received her ideal offer through the online application in the epidemic period, introduced her experience about her own online application. She provided reference information in interview preparation, process arrangement and attentions.
Fifthly, through analysis on enrollment of postgraduates in the previous years and enrollment situation this year, vice dean Liu Muxing gave students guidance for postgraduate entrance examination. He suggested holding correct attitude, avoiding being slack, adapting to new situations actively and preparing for the second-round examination.
After that, connecting with personal experience in epidemic prevention and control in CCNU, Chu level organizer Cao Huidong encouraged students to make use of major advantages. And he also suggested that, in the historical responsibility of the young generation, we young students should think deeply about the relationship between human and nature, national society and individuals, and integrate the growth and development of individuals into the historical mission of the new era.
The seventh item of the meeting was the pep talk from dean Ao Rongjun. He reminded students not to lessen our vigilance because of the better epidemic situation. Besides, he expressed the college's concern and consideration for graduates and hoped to pull through together with students in the epidemic situation.
At last, the secretory Liang Zhiqun analysed the employment situation of college graduates in 2020, and conveyed a series of policies and measures of the country, school and college to help graduates to obtain their jobs. He said, virus is merciless but human beings are merciful, so wait patiently for the final result. He hoped students to hold firm belief and fight and win this battle against epidemic and employment.
