THE VOICE OF CCNU-On the evening of Nov.29, 7o’clock, the opening ceremony of the eighth “ChengHuan Cup” badminton game was held officially in You Ming stadium. The badminton game was hosted by School Sports Committee, co-organized by The College of Urban and Environmental Sciences (CUES) and Badminton Association. People who attended were the members of the Standing Committee of the school Party Committee and vice-principle Peng Shuangjie, the secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Physical Education Guo Qing, the secretary of the Party Committee of CUES Liang Zhiqun, the dean of CUES Ao Rongjun, the vice-secretary of the Party Committee of CUES Rao Yanping, the vice-secretary of the Party Committee of School of Chinese language and Literature Xu Fugang, member of the competition and review management office of the School of Physical Education Zhu Qing and the chief coach of the school’s badminton team Zhao Jiajia. The secretary of the Party Committee and the counselors of each school attended also. The emcees of this opening ceremony were Li Ruihao and Dai Xinyi, members of the host team of CUES.
The first section of the opening ceremony proceeded. The referees and the athletes entered the stadium and demonstrated themselves. Athletes from different schools entered the stadium, not afraid of the coldness and full of vigor, which showed their full enthusiasm and that they were aggressive. When the opening ceremony ended, all the people present stood up, sang the national anthem and solemnly saluted the national flag raising up slowly. After salute, the secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Physical Education Guo Qing delivered an address. In the address, he wished the game a complete success and each team a good grade in advance. Then the secretary of the Party Committee of CUES Liang Zhiqun delivered a speech. He pointed out that “ Our school has always attached great importance to the work of physical education and has carried out abundant group sports activities”, he hope all the students could demonstrate their style and try their best in the upcoming competitions and “demonstrate the vigor and team spirit of contemporary university students.”
After the solemn pledge given by the athlete representative Li Boyang and the referee representative Hong Yige, Peng Shuangjie delivered the final summary speech of the opening ceremony. Sports competition is an embodiment of individual individuation, maturation and personification. Playing an important role in educational business, physical education can build students’ figure and promote students’ all-round development—— which is also the fundamental objective why this game was held.
With the melodious music, the referees and the athletes marched off orderly. Bright drumbeats arising, it was the aerobics team who brought a wonderful performance to the opening ceremony. Taking off softly, dancing passionately, every take-off was the declaration and rhythm of youth. In cold winter, they used the aerobics to deduce the sports spirits and demonstrate the vigor of youth. The song Nobody brought by the vocal music team of CUES wowed audiences present. The dynamic dance medley performed by the art troupe of CUES pushed the spot to the climax again. In the universal applause of the audiences, the badminton performance struck while the iron was hot and kept the passion that audiences had.
Picking up the shuttlecock and smashing the shuttlecock, Peng Shuangjie, who played personally, finished the kick-off successfully. In the applause of the audiences present, the badminton performance game started officially. Four national-level badminton athletes were divided into two groups and stood their ground in tandem. The flying shuttlecock seemed to be light, but the athletes standing on the court never diminished their forces. The height of the shuttlecock alternated between high height and low height. Athletes made triple jumps or bent over to a half crouch. On the court, the whole scene was intense. During the match, Zhao Jiajia gave a wonderful commentary and introduced the rules of badminton game outside to help audience know the game status.
One tube of shuttlecocks ran out under the drive of athletes. The performance game ended in the applause of the audiences. Li Ruihao announced solemnly that the opening ceremony was finished successfully.
