On November 5, the sub-Party Committee in School of Education held a postgraduate teaching colloquium in 403 of the Tianjiabing Education Building, an event focused on improving when knowing with the theme of “remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind”. The meeting was hosted by Professor Shen Guochang, the duty principal of the School. And the postgraduate teaching secretary Gan Anhong, counsellors for postgraduates Zhang Wenjun and Xu Jiarui, and student representatives from different departments of 2018&2019 were present at the meeting.
At the beginning, Professor Shen generally introduced the background, objective and significance of the colloquium, which aims at comprehensively getting the picture of postgraduate teaching in each department, finding major problems and then taking measures to improve accordingly. He hoped every student can really gain something during the study for master’s degree.
Afterwards, opinions and suggestions were raised by postgraduates from different departments, ranging from selecting courses in systems, class teaching, quality of teaching, educational practice to daily management, use of classroom and methods of feedback. And Shen Guochang responded to these one by one.
In the end, Professor Shen drew a summary of the meeting. First, he expressed his gratitude to the representatives’ free opinions sharing. Second, he said that the views mentioned in the meeting would be attached importance to and be taken into action. Last, he showed the hope that students can study attentively and acquire more. Also, the sub-Party Committee in School of Education could regard the series of educational events as an opportunity to serve and guide students and teachers well, promoting the college work to a higher level.
