At the beginning of this year, the university issued The Promotion Plan for High-level Undergraduate Education, gradually building a high-level undergraduate education system that took students as the center and combined moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic and labor education. And the labor education course as a full-time undergraduate compulsory course is officially included in the undergraduate talent training program with 2 credits, of which 0.5 points are for theoretical courses and 1.5 points are for practical courses.
In the first labor education theory class of the school, Principal Zhao Lingyun started from the students' eating, folding quilts, arranging their dormitories, cleaning the classroom and campus, learning from the model workers and other people and things around the students, educating the students with very vivid examples. He said, "People work throughout their lifetime and receive different forms of labor education since they have the ability to work. Labor and labor education accompany people's life." Then, he discussed the value and significance of labor with the students around three aspects. “Labor is man's vocation, labor is the foundation of life and labor fulfills dreams.” He emphasized,“Labor is the way of expression and proof of man. Principal Zhao Lingyun pointed out that labor is man's vocation. There are three main reasons: first, labor creates human beings; second, labor creates wealth; third, labor creates progress. In his view, labor is the foundation of life. On one hand, labor determines a person's world view, values, philosophy and views on happiness, career, time, wealth, consumption, learning and oneself. Labor and labor education play a special and important role in the process of talent growth and education, and labor shapes people's spiritual outlook. On the other hand, labor is the foundation of the education system named "Five Education Simultaneously" of moral education, intellectual education, physical education, aesthetic education and physical education. One of the characteristics of CCNU education system is to emphasize practice and operation. The CCNU spirit of "loyalty, elegance, simplicity and fortitude" is a vivid interpretation of the labor spirit. People from CCNU should use the spirit of CCNU to guide learning and labor, and use labor to promote the spirit of CCNU.
