And instead of calla lilies, daisy and rose garlands are the symbols of French wedding. After the wedding ceremony, the new couple would leave the auditorium with a great many of scraps of paper flying in the air, which is called confetti. Confetti originates from throwing kernels. Dating back to the 15th century, a baker’s wife saw Henry VII and the Queen travelling in Bristol, then she threw kernels to them to show her blessing. As is known to all, kernels stand for harvest and prosperity. Then people replace kernels with colorful scraps of paper to make it a more convenient way to show the blessing.
