To gain a comprehensive understanding of the academic and living conditions, academic development, and career or further education trends of the 2023 undergraduate cohort, and to precisely advance student education management and employment cultivation, the School of Fine Arts at CCNU convened the "2023 Undergraduate Class Advisors Meeting & Employment and Further Education Promotion Conference" on April 17 in the fifth-floor conference room of the school. Attendees included Zhuang Li, Associate Dean of the School of Fine Arts; Chen Xi (Head of the Printmaking Teaching and Research Office), Shu Cong (Head of the Oil Painting Teaching and Research Office), Li Guo (Head of the Traditional Chinese Painting Teaching and Research Office); all class advisors of the 2023 cohort — Xiao Di, Xu Qian, Yang Yang, Li Gang, Li Zijian, Deng Yueru; and counselor Chen Yingjia. The meeting was chaired by Liu Qian, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee. Together, the faculty reviewed the current status of the cohort, analyzed key issues, and planned next steps.

During the meeting, Counselor Chen Yingjia reported on the overall situation of the students and the recent series of motivational measures for employment and further education. Since the start of this semester, the 2023 cohort has carried out a range of targeted educational and support activities with distinct themes, rich content, diverse formats, and tangible results: five sessions of employment and further education themed lectures covering all students, with home-school collaboration; class-specific themed meetings sharing the experiences and outcomes of previous graduates; one-on-one guidance for students preparing for postgraduate entrance exams; appointment of employment information messengers to share internship and job opportunities in real time; and a special questionnaire survey to understand students’ career intentions, alongside academic early warnings to accurately identify needs and assist struggling students. During the reporting process, the class advisors, together with teaching and research office faculty, conducted detailed analyses and discussions on specific situations in each class, including academic improvement, support for students in difficulty, employment and entrepreneurship, civil service exams, teacher certification exams, and studying abroad. Regarding academic improvement, strategies such as overall attention and categorized tutoring were discussed for students facing learning difficulties or failing to meet credit requirements. For students in difficulty, the current status and support pathways for those facing financial or other challenges were reviewed. On employment and entrepreneurship, the team analyzed students’ portfolio preparation, internship participation, job target matching, and entrepreneurial intentions, and explored available resources and feasible support plans. For students pursuing civil service exams, teacher certification exams, or overseas study, the discussion covered exam preparation progress, option selection, application challenges, and future guidance arrangements.

During the meeting, the school’s teaching and research team, class advisors, and student affairs team came together to comprehensively review the key priorities and challenges concerning employment and further education for the 2023 undergraduate cohort. They further clarified the work approach and consolidated a shared understanding of student development. Going forward, the School of Fine Arts will continue to focus on students’ growth needs, strengthen the construction of the class advisor team, deepen collaborative and whole-person education, implement precise and category-based student guidance, and make every effort to excel in student education management, employment support, and further education assistance, helping students of the School of Fine Arts achieve all-round development and success.
