The voice of CCNU:On the afternoon of March 26, 2026, the first Counselor Salon of 2026 and Mental Health Education Capacity Building Training, themed "Case Management in University Student Work: Methods, Techniques, and Practical Experience," was held in Lecture Hall 403, Building B of the New University Student Activity Center at Central China Normal University. The salon was sponsored by the Party Committee Student Affairs Department and the University Student Mental Health Education Center, and organized by the Qiu Zhen Counselor Growth and Development Studio and the School of Life Sciences. The salon was delivered by Associate Professor Huang Jun from the Department of Social Work, School of Sociology, Central China Normal University, and hosted by Wu Jiancheng, Deputy Director of the Party Committee Student Affairs Department and Director of the University Student Mental Health Education Center. Nearly 100 full-time and part-time counselors from various schools attended the event, along with Wang Li, Deputy Party Secretary of the School of Sociology, and Professor Yu Haijun from the University Student Mental Health Education Center.
Starting from the real-life scenarios and practical needs of university student work, Huang Jun systematically shared methods and techniques of student services and case management, integrating professional social work theories with frontline experience. Huang Jun also emphasized that in the process of case services, it is essential to always base on students' actual needs, integrate multiple resources for targeted interventions, and enhance the effectiveness of assistance through professional standards and humanistic warmth, thereby effectively safeguarding students' healthy growth.
In his summary, Wu Jiancheng pointed out that the sharing at this salon had both professional depth and practical value, providing effective support for enhancing counselors’ ability to educate students. She encouraged counselors to transform the case management principles and service processes learned in this salon into practical assistance capabilities, precisely identify students’ needs, invest genuine emotions with a respectful and accepting attitude, help students smoothly navigate through growth difficulties, and promote the effectiveness of the university’s psychological education work.
