November 7, 2025

The Voice of CCNU To Help Students Systematically Understand Postgraduate Recommendation Policies and Define Development Directions, the School of Marxism's "Truth-Seeking" Learning and Development Center Successfully Held a Sharing Session on Postgraduate Recommendation Experience on the evening of October 19th in Classroom 8511, Building 8.The event specially invited Shao Yantao, Vice Dean of the School of Marxism, to interpret the postgraduate recommendation policies, and also invited three student representatives—Xu Ran, Xu Qi, and Cheng Jiaxing—who have secured postgraduate recommendations, to share their experiences. The session was hosted by Han Xu, a counselor for the 2023 undergraduate cohort of the School of Marxism.

At the beginning of the sharing session, Vice Dean Shao Yantao, drawing on the recent practices of postgraduate recommendation, systematically introduced the allocation mechanism for postgraduate recommendation quotas and the trends in policy adjustments. He emphasized that students should clarify their development goals as early as possible, make full preparations, and maintain a steady mindset. Meanwhile, he encouraged everyone to enhance their comprehensive qualities through all-round development and progress steadily toward their established goals.

The first speaker, Xu Ran, an undergraduate majoring in Ideological and Political Education from the Class of 2022, has been recommended for admission to the School of Marxism at Xiamen University. She elaborated on "personal positioning and direction selection," pointing out that clear goals are a crucial prerequisite for effectively advancing academic and career development. Regarding the choice of institutions and majors, she advised students to comprehensively consider multiple factors such as the university's platform, disciplinary strength, geographical environment, and future development prospects, and to make informed decisions based on their actual circumstances. On this basis, Xu Ran proposed three specific suggestions: first, refer to the further education destinations of previous graduates to gain an in-depth understanding of the admission policies of target institutions; second, solidly complete the review of professional knowledge and long-term planning; third, prepare comprehensively for the interview process, including personal statements, appearance and demeanor, and strategies for answering questions.

The second speaker, Xu Qi, an undergraduate majoring in Marxist Theory from the Class of 2022, has been recommended for admission to the School of Marxism at Fudan University. She focused on the importance of mindset adjustment during the postgraduate recommendation process, noting that when facing anxiety and uncertainty, one should maintain their own rhythm and determination. She encouraged students, while maintaining a proactive attitude, to pay more attention to clarifying their personal development direction. Regarding school selection strategy, Xu Qi suggested adopting a tiered application approach, categorizing target institutions into "aspirational," "moderate," and "safe" tiers to balance application efficiency and success probability. Concerning the interview, she particularly emphasized the value of presenting oneself sincerely, believing that showing one's true self helps secure development opportunities that are a better fit.

The third speaker, Cheng Jiaxing, has passed the assessment for the Postgraduate Student Volunteer Teaching Program and been recommended for admission to the School of Marxism at Central China Normal University. Based on his personal experience, he systematically explained the selection criteria and key preparation points for the Postgraduate Student Volunteer Teaching Program. Cheng Jiaxing pointed out that student leadership experience and practical service capabilities are particularly important, and applicants with experience in university-level student organizations or volunteer teaching practice will have a competitive edge. Furthermore, he detailed the key techniques for the interview process and specifically reminded students to pay attention to the accurate verification of policy information, as well as the proper organization and safe keeping of important materials such as award certificates and practice verification documents.

The entire sharing session was substantial in content and involved in-depth exchanges, featuring both macro-level policy interpretation and specific practical guidance. In the future, the "Truth-Seeking" Learning and Development Center will continue to launch a series of academic development guidance activities to support students from the School of Marxism in achieving higher-quality development on their growth path.
