(The Voice of CCNU)In order to strengthen the foundation of class management and build a solid base for the growth and education of students, a freshman class tutor work symposium was held in Room 3402 of the Foreign Languages College at noon on October 15th. Vice Dean Wang Jia of the Foreign Languages College, all freshman class tutors, freshman counselors Zhang Zi Yun, Li Ze, and Chen Chong, and class tutor work coordinator Qiu Ling attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by the Deputy Secretary of the College Party Committee, Luo Jian.

Luo Jian conveyed the requirements for class tutors from the new semester student affairs training meeting, reviewed the freshmen admission education work carried out since the start of the school year and made arrangements for future work. He also introduced the freshmen grade counselors to the class tutors one by one, hoping that the counselors and class tutors could deepen their communication and cooperation in the future. Luo Jian analyzed the responsibilities of the freshmen class tutors with practical examples. On the one hand, they should focus on class building and student management, helping freshmen complete the role transition and strengthen their understanding of their majors. On the other hand, they should focus on caring for students, acting as the "first guide" and "first informant" for students to safeguard their healthy growth.
Wang Jia further emphasized that class tutors need to have a strong sense of responsibility. On the one hand, they should pay more attention to students by organizing symposiums, conducting home visits, and other forms to facilitate communication between teachers and students as well as between schools and parents. On the other hand, they need to strengthen cooperation with counselors to gain a deep understanding of students' academic progress and ideological trends. Class tutors should closely cooperate with the college, fully commit themselves, and play an active role.
During the exchange session, class tutors and counselors engaged in an in-depth discussion on the study and life of freshmen, sharing their work experience and insights. At the end of the meeting, Luo Jian and Wang Jia presented appointment letters to the class tutors of the 2025 freshman class, bringing the symposium to a successful conclusion.
It is reported that the college plans to hold class tutor meetings in various forms such as joint meetings of the faculty and class tutor luncheons, focusing on different grades and themes this academic year to establish a working mechanism and promote collaborative education.
