Counselor Salon | “Sharing Experience of Constructing Ideological and Political Studios”

The Voice of CCNU On the morning of January 17th, the new session of counselor salon was held at the 901 Lecture Hall of TianJiabing Educational Academy. The topic of the salon was sharing experiences of constructing ideological and political studios. The salon was organized by Office of Student Affairs and hosted by School of Education. Li Zheli, a full-time counselor of School of Chinese Language and Literature and the head of Wen Xiaoshi Aesthetic Education and Ideological and Political Work Studio, Lei Xiaoting, the head of School of Economics and Business Administration and Xiaoting Ideological and Political Work Studio, shared their experiences with the themes of Cultivating People through Aesthetics and Culture--The Growth and Development of the Wen Xiaoshi Aesthetic education and Ideological and Political Education Studio and How Counselors Ideological and Political Work Studio Can Make New Attempts and Break the Circle under the Great Ideological and Political Pattern. Shao Lili, Deputy Secretary of School of Marxism, Chen Xiaogang, Deputy Secretary of School of Music, Wang Li, Deputy Secretary of School of Sociology, Wang Lu, Deputy Secretary of School of Education, and representatives of full-time and part-time counselors attended the meeting. The activity was hosted by Li Xianling, Deputy Director of the Ideological and Political Affairs Department of Office of Student Affairs.



Li Zheli introduced the development process of Wen Xiaoshi Aesthetic Education Ideological and Political Studio, and shared work ideas and achievements from the perspectives of ideological and political education and aesthetic education. She pointed out that the Wen Xiaoshi Aesthetic Education and Ideological and Political Studio had always attach great importance to ideological and political education and taken art education as its distinctive highlight. It had made efforts in four aspects: building its strength, enriching its forms, broadening its main body, and expanding its territory, achieving the goal of educating people through art and culture. Since its establishment, the Wen Xiaoshi Aesthetic Education and Ideological and Political Studio had made students the main body of ideological and political education. There were a three-level linkage ideological and political education guidance team, which was consisted of college leaders, counselors and class teachers, and student assistant class teachers. It had also implemented the Three Navigation Project to carry out full-process education, created a multimedia matrix, and launched many online and offline activities, such as theoretical learning always around audiobooks, youth lectures, traditional culture into communities. Regarding the integration of aesthetic education and ideological and political education, Li Zheli introduced the successful experience of the studio in organizing the Aesthetic Education based on strings · Ideological and Political Leaving Voices series of concerts. She said it is of great importance to find the right combination between the two, to handle the relationship between professionalism and popularity in aesthetics, and handle the relationship between teacher guidance and student autonomy well.



Lei Xiaoting shared the basic situations of Xiaoting Ideological and Political Work Studio and pointed out that The studio relied on the practical and online education advantages of School of Economics and Business Administration to continuously promote the breaking of boundaries in the content, carriers, subjects, and audiences of ideological and political education, and to make good use of the big ideological and political courses of the new era. After a year of exploration and development, Xiaoting Ideological and Political Work Studio had adopted a new model of professional+practical to guide and mobilize students to carry out practical exercises, deeply explore exemplary stories and educational materials. The studios had launched brands such as Qingting Honghu and Xingnong Classroom, condensing practical achievements into a one-stop educational material library. By creating visual works, the studios had produced a series of educational masterpieces mainly in the form of MOOCs, short videos, tweets, live broadcasts, etc., guiding online ideological and political education into fragmented educational fields. Through multidimensional interactive communication and building a new type of guidance and teacher-student relationship, the studio had recorded a series of ideological and political short videos that teachers and students enjoy, triggering collective emotional resonance. Lei Xiaoting gave an outlook on the future development of the studio and shared her experiences with the case of Zhu Xin Studio of Huazhong Agricultural University. She talked about the need to do a good job in coordinating and integrating educational forces, to create a unique brand of the studio, to improve the originality and ideological content of online works, to benchmark students needs, and to make the ideological and political education grounded.



After the theme sharing, Li Xianling focused on the future counselor team constructing direction and pointed out that the construction of ideological and political studios should be combined with the characteristics of disciplines and majors, the hot topics of the times and society, and the needs of student growth, and firmly grasp the political direction, adhere to the principle of putting ideology first and content first. We must tell good stories about educating people in the language of youth, and build ideological and political studios into a strong battlefield for the high-quality development of student work and the common growth of counselors and students. She stressed that counselors should organically integrate the construction of ideological and political studios with their professional growth, continuously improve their sense of identity, job satisfaction, and career happiness.



During the event, the attendees also discussed around the theme, and offered suggestions on team building, IP building, innovative educational content and forms, and personal growth of counselors, providing new ideas for the construction of ideological and political studios.
