Convergence Media Center of School of Education online On the afternoon of April 25, the 2022 Spring Special Session on Mental Health Work was convened at room 403 of Tianjiabing education building. The deputy director of Student Affairs Department of school Party Committee, Wu Jiancheng, the executive deputy director of Mental Health Center, Wu Caizhi, the instructor of the ethnic minority, Li Chunyan and deputy secretaries of Party Committee of School of Education, Huang Yuxin as well as Su Chunyan attended the meeting. Moreover, community counselors and all college instructors were present and the meeting was hosted by Huang Xinyu.
At the meeting, instructors of all grades, ethnic minority and community reported on their respective work, in the meantime, they communicated and discussed the confusion existing in their work.
The deputy director, Wu Caizhi, combined his own experience in mental health education and psychological crisis intervention over the years to give detailed guidance according to the specific situation of each grade and the difficulties in the work. He pointed out that the teachers and students needed to have empathy to do the mental health work well, which meant that teachers should be anxious bout what the students were worried about and build students’ sense of trust in them with scientific ideas. Then, he stressed that the relevant quality training of community instructors had to be strengthened to enhance the joint force of mental health work to educate people.
The deputy director, Wu Jiancheng, learned bout the work of each instructor of the community and gave guidance to them. In addition, he came up with that the training of psychological committee members was needed to be strengthened to ensure that they could “work with certificates”. Instructors of each grade were asked to do a good job in “five things that were necessary to be talked about” work, “six things that were needed to be implemented” work and some other relevant work to combine moral education and the education of heart organically, strengthen guidance during the process and actively guide the students to grow up healthily.
