Aimed at bringing teachers and students closer and having a clearer understanding of the thoughts, study and life of students during the winter vacation, students of Grade 2019 in School of Economics and Business Administration held a special activity of “Chat Online · Listen to You” in the winter vacation, which took the dormitory as the unit and was organized by Zhao Wan, counselor of the school.

During this activity, Zhao Wan, counselor of the school, tried to know more about the students’ conditions of epidemic prevention at home, listened to students’ confusion and cared about students’ physical and mental health through voice calls or video calls. Additionally, they talked about the arrangements and plans of the future study and the counselor also answered students’ questions.

The teacher not only had a natter with the students, sharing the fun of the holiday, but also focused on the problems, patiently enlightening them. For the students with poor emotional state, she encouraged them to strengthen physical exercise and ensure regular routine of work and rest during the winter vacation, so as to relieve the psychological pressure and anxiety caused by life and study.
After the activity, a student said that the online heart-to-heart conversation led him to pay more attention to his future planning, and the teacher's feasible suggestions on postgraduate entrance examination and occupation also pushed him to think more clearly about his choice. “Although the road is endless and faraway, I still want to pursue the truth in the world”. He also expressed his determination that he would make more efforts to move forward towards his goal in the future study and life.

Zhao Wan said that the purpose of holding this activity in the way of taking the dormitory as a unit was to provide a familiar and comfortable atmosphere for students and to guide them to open their minds and speak freely. During the special period of winter vacation, the online heart-to-heart chat enabled teachers to have a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of students’ living conditions as well as to provide timely guidance and help for students in need.
The special event “Chat Online · Listen to You” not only narrowed the mental distance between teachers and students, but also reflected the care for students. The new semester has come, and the new journey has begun. Make a good plan for the future, and be determined to forge ahead. It’s believed that students will have a better and more promising future!
