On January 19, 2021 the School of Mathematics and Statistics held the faculty meeting. The meeting was hosted by Wang Zhong, the Secretary of the Branch Party Committee of the School. All the faculty attended this meeting.
The Principal of the School Zhou Yuanyang firstly notified the changes of the Academic Committee, the Teaching Committee, Research Committee and Degree Committee of the School. For the development of the fifth round of discipline assessment, Principal Zhou Yuanyang made a summary from four aspects of talent training quality, teaching staff and resources, scientific research level and social service. He stressed that the discipline assessment should be taken as an opportunity to promote the assessment and construction, give full play to the advantages, make up for the deficiencies, and make unremitting efforts to further improve the discipline construction level of our college.
And then, the Vice Principal of the School, Zheng Gaofeng, gave a speech. After expressing his thanks to the whole faculty who overcame difficulties and completed undergraduate education and teaching with high quality, he arranged the work from the final course materials submission, undergraduate thesis guidance, teachers' teaching tasks in the next semester and the work that still needed to be improved in the third-level certification index of applied mathematics normal major. The Vice Principal of the School, Zuo Guoxin, stressed in his speech that supervisors should fully care for students from the perspective of carrying out the responsibilities of graduate supervisors in educating students. He said that we should not only pay attention to the students, but also do a good job in tracking the graduates, so as to truly "educate people through the whole process".
At the end of the meeting, Wang Zhong, the Secretary of the Branch Party Committee of the School, made a conclusive speech. He expressed that in the extremely unusual year of 2020, all the faculty of the School of Mathematics and Statistics have made concerted effort, fought with all strength and won the "two-front battle" of epidemic prevention and control and career development of the School. He thanked all the faculty for their hard work in the past year, and arranged and deployed the key work in the winter vacation.
Secretary Wang stressed that it was still in the stage of normal epidemic prevention and control. He hoped that teachers would complete the formalities of leaving Wuhan in the strict accordance with the requirements of the school, and take good care of personal protection and personal safety.
