The Voice of CCNU As the cool autumn wind brought us fragrance of the laurel flowers, the School of Politics and International Studies held an art decompression salon in the conference room on the second floor of Yifu International Conference Center on the morning of October 25th. The activity which was hosted by Mei Fangqing and Chen Jing and participated by some freshmen aimed to release students' pressure and moods, making them perform better in their study and daily life.

The theme of the activity was 'joint your emotions; release your pressures; embrace yourselves'. The activity consisted of six parts; ice-breaking game, making name cards, a 5 -minute meditation, drawing, discussion and the fashioning of the paintings. In the very beginning of the game, two comperes lead students in by inviting each student to introduce their own hobbies, in order to make students familiar with each other so as to promote the process of the activity. With the help of two hostesses, the game culminated in the hand-clapping of students who shared same interests.

In the drawing part, every student first made a brief self-introduction, and then wrote down his/her name with favorite color. Afterwards, they painted to express their delight, anger, sorrow, fear and happiness. This can connect their feelings directly with their works, helping students to express their moods and drive away their worry and pressure. Students then cut out their favorite part of their paintings and pasted them on an A3 to further polish the paintings. Finally, the participants shared their understandings and feeling about their creation.

The activity ended with an ovation. Li Xiaoyu said in the interview afterwards, that ‘the decompression salon brought comfort to my mind and drove away my pressure, I felt sheer happy.' students all had a great time in the games. The School of Politics and International Studies will carry out other relative activities in the future and continually pay attention to psychological health and their overall development.
