On October 16 at 6 pm, the Excellence Class of the School of Chemistry successfully held the first Themed Group Day Activity of the new semester in Room 201 at the chemistry building. The activity, which revolved around “Learn the ‘Four Histories’, Remember it and Cast the Soul”, aimed to enhance students' sense of identity with the Party and the country, to guide students to actively learn the knowledge of the Party and the Group theories, to approach to the Party continuously, to strengthen the patriotic feelings, to discipline themselves with higher standards, and to fill their youth with enthusiasm and then to struggle to achieve dreams. The director of the Undergraduate Teaching Committee of the College of Chemistry, Professor Yuan Hong and the Deputy Secretary of the Youth League Committee of School of Chemistry and the 2020 counselor, Sun Yulin and all members of the Excellence Class of the School of Chemistry attended this activity together.
Though it winds and rains, the years are like songs. The CCNU has witnessed 117 years of tremendous changes, and the New China also ushered in her 71st birthday. In CCNU, and by the South Lake, the youth of the new era are starting a new journey under the leadership of the Party and the country to write a glorious chapter. With the passionate melody of the Group Song, this activity began.
In order to implement the General Secretary's proposal--only if persisting to build the Party with ideas, making the Party strong with theories, and only if we do not forget our roots can we be more self-conscious and more determined to take on the mission. Under the guide of the hostess, students initiated the discussion around "what are Four Histories", "why we have to learn Four Histories" and "how to learn Four Histories ". Furthermore, through studying them students would have a deeper understanding of the context, background and logic of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
The hostess has introduced those to the students: the history of the Communist Party of China's indomitable struggle for national independence, prosperity of the country and happiness of the people over the years; the history of New China tells us a story of a country that has forged ahead in the past 70 years, the history of reform and opening up tells us the history of New China's efforts in innovation over the past 40 years and the history of socialism tells us about the great rise of China as a socialist country to achieve its independence over the past 500 years. Then the host told them the glorious history of CCNU--117 years of implication and accumulation, 117 years of inheritance and development--now CCNU is on the road of development in a swaggering attitude, and groups of teachers and students of CCNU, under the leadership of the Party, the country and the school, lit up CCNU, lit up the New China with all the strength!
During the activity, professor Yuan Hong sent the students some words. In the speech, he expressed proposals and expectations of the Excellence Class--he hoped everyone can have enough stance in thoughts in the future learning, and can improve their own ideological awareness. He said, in the "Two Centenaries” goals and the great era of historical intersection, as a new era of youth should stand firm, and meet the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and 120th anniversary of CCNU with excellent performance.
In order to enhance the enjoyment of this activity, and to increase the participation of the students, the Excellence Class carried out the "Learn the ‘Four Histories’, Remember it and Cast the Soul, Be the Pioneer Bravely" and "Four History"--the knowledge quiz activities, under the leadership of the league branch. Students actively participated in the activity, and spoke actively. This activity guided students to learn the history and love the Party and our country in a whole new way, to carry forward the glorious tradition and good styles in new times, to engrave the red gene into veins and soul, to strengthen the ideals and beliefs by learning and practicing, to practice the original mind and mission with efforts and achievements, then to make contributions to the development of New China!
Yesterday's wind and rain, tomorrow's forge ahead! Believe that the students of the Excellent Class of Grade 2020 will dare to be the first to pursue excellence more vigorously and repay CCNU and the motherland with their actions in the future development!
