On October 2, 2020, the 10th Anniversary of the Back-to-School Activity of the 2006 alumni of the Department of Journalism of our School was successfully held. The alumni got back together and held the Alumni meeting in the conference room of the School of Journalism and Communication in CCNU. The party secretary, Luo Yiwen and the associate dean, Yu Fasheng and representatives of teachers, Liu Zhen and Zhang Dehua and retired professors, Liu Jiuzhou, Li Liming and Jiang Jianhong of our School attended the alumni meeting, which was presided over by Jiang Jianhong. Teacher Jiang, on behalf of all the teachers and students of our School, warmly welcomed each 2006 alumni of the Department of Journalism firstly who came back to their school, their CCNU after they have graduated for ten years and invited the teachers to say something.
Teacher Liu Jiuzhou warmly welcomed every alumni firstly, and then shared his own feelings amid the pandemic and some students’ anti-epidemic stories, during which he choked with sobs a few times. Teacher Liu said that he was moved that everyone was still upholding the ideals as journalists, and at the same time, he also hoped that whether the alumni worked in the news industry or not, they would still have the ideals and spirits as journalists.
Teacher Yu Fasheng then also shared his work amid the pandemic, including attending the expert symposiums convened by governments at all levels and an interview with the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Financial News etc. Teacher Yu commented that he hadn’t become a deserter amid the pandemic and he never wanted to get some reputations. All he did was saving a city, which everyone lived in.
Teacher Li Liming emphasized that the party that was held after they have graduated ten years was the most impressive party. Every alumni must have had a difficult but wonderful decade. Teacher Liu said long live youth and long live friendship. He hoped that each would have a better prosperity.
Seeing these strange and familiar faces, teacher Zhang Dehua called out some students’ names and interacted with them, which reminded him a lot of the past. He said humorously that their own school can only be scolded by themselves, and no one else can say something bad of her. The school was in the softest place in their hearts forever. Teachers would pay close attention to the back of the students and would watch and look forward to everyone coming home again forever.
The wet-eyed teacher Liu Zhen expressed his miss and welcome to the alumni. The laurel was exposed to the wind and rain, the teacher-student friendship was still there. He hoped there would be a chance to make sure to create conditions for seeing each other again in the future.
The party secretary, Luo Yiwen expressed amiable greetings to every alumni who came back to school and introduced the development of the School to all briefly. The CCNU was the home of all the students forever. Secretary Luo welcomed all of them to come back and see their school often on behalf of the School and wished everyone all the best in their work, home and health.
In the end, three alumni donated commemorative plaques to the School on behalf of all 2006 Journalism alumni. They presented their personal states, and interacted with teachers amiably. After the meeting, they walked around the campus and enjoyed the pleasure together.
