THE VOICE OF CCNU- On the evening of Dec. 8, 6 o’clock, the evening roll-call of School of Fine Arts was held in the classroom 8501. And this evening roll-call was also a lecture about the making of work Cui Ji. Ai Huan and Xu Qian, teachers of the School of Fine Arts, were invited to give a lecture to all of the 2017th students to improve their artistic appreciation and the production level of their works. It’s said that this activity was one part of the activity “professional teachers attending the evening roll-call”.
After the emcee Cheng Siyuan introduced the background and the aim of this activity, two teachers respectively gave explanations to students who major in fine arts and design science. Teacher Ai Huan emphasized that the works should have pertinence, should be in line with the firms and the market and should meet the need of the post. Homework is not work. Works should attach importance to the quality and efficiency instead of putting all the works in it. About the way of demonstration of the works, Ai thought students should try to avoid a low page rate and they could use the QR code to demonstrate individual style.
Teacher Xu Qian took the works of former students as an example to explain the problems students may have when they are making the works. Xu emphasized that when students are making work, they should know their target and the whole works should be structural. What’s more, the works should avoid being arranged in time sequence. The normal students could put their internship experiences in the front part of the works. Xu thought the simplest way of making works was to study. Study the albums of painting, excellent works of the teachers and magazines. The page arrangement should be neat and tidy, well-laid and full of new ideas. Xu also pointed out that students should check whether there are errors and correct them. Moreover, they should modify their works according to the situation of the school that they have sent their resumes to.
After the explanation from the teachers, students arose their problems on the spot. Student Qian Siyu asked that the making of the works should be more technical or comprehensive. Xu answered that:” The proportion should be decided by the school that you sent your resume to. The middle and primary school may prefer comprehensive quality. While the high school of fine arts may prefer sketch, color, etc. You should adjust according to the practical situation.”
During the whole lecture, the students listened carefully and interacted actively. Through this activity, the students learned more about the process, method and proportion of making works.
