The Voice Of CCNU On November 7, the 2019 school sports meeting of CCNU solemnly opened in You Ming Stadium. On the playground, athletes were in high spirits and struggled for glories in the warm autumn sunlight and breezes. Meanwhile behind the scene, contributions were made in silence by a team of students who were members of the students’ union of the School of Information Management. On the afternoon of 7, journalists from the School’s press corps came to the base camp of the Department, and briefly interviewed the staff of the students’ union.
Co-running Volunteers: Share Joy And Sorrow, Enjoy Victory And Win
On the playground of long-distance running, there were always companions shaking red flags for athletes of the School, sharing the joy of victory. According to Xu Fengchen, a member of the Youth Volunteer Association of the School, most volunteers took part in the event out of their own choice and most of them are freshmen of 2019. The aim of being accompanying runners is to bring the warmth to athletes, so that they could have more confidence in themselves and compete more attentively.
Zhang Yuhang, one of the accompanying volunteers, said that it was the first time that he had come to accompany athletes. Worried about unable to finish the task at first, he gradually overcame fear and anxiety. During the course of running, he recognized his teammates and athletes merely by the red uniform and flag and raced to the final together. What he had gained was not only the persistence and carefulness when chasing after the athletes, but the trust and responsibility in handing over the flag of the School. The pace of the volunteers would not stop in spite of the end of accompanying running. They would go on bearing the spirit of dedication.
Logistics Support: Always Stay, Provide Warmth
When interviewed, staff of the Rights Protection And Service Xu Jiao said, every day in this period, logistics workers reached the base camp before 6:30 am to carry and place things and goods in advance, arrange the work too. Besides, they also cheered for athletes. Although sounded easy, those work guaranteed that the athletes could compete without problems. Meanwhile, the stuff deposited was kept well, leaving no worries behind.
At the end of the race track, logistics workers set up camps to distribute water to athletes and prepared medicine to ensure their health.
As for the feelings of this logistics work, staff of the Rights Protection And Service said that even though the work was complicated, they still gained a lot. They learned how to better divide and assign work, improved themselves and knew more new friends, having a rich and fruitful day.
At last, they draw a summary in their work concerned. Only when drawbacks were found could we go ahead. It was those selfless logistics workers that made the victory on the playground grander and more splendid.
Media Men: Record With Heart, Spread With Love
In every colorful minute, there were a group of people dashing in front of others, carrying PCs and cameras, only to grasp the inspiring moment. “We followed and filmed for 3 days in the 3-day-long event. We also ran beside competitors carrying the devices and instruments.” said Chen Wanqi with a smile of the press crops.
In addition, journalists need to find the right angle and position and to overcome other difficulties in the period of filming. They were often found working just after stuffing the water bottles into their pockets. Apart from photographing and writing, the Department of New Media also kept up with competition process in order to update news timely in QQ zone, Wechat official account and Sina Weibo. Whether it was characteristic opening ceremony or thrilling competitions, media men stayed online accompanying us.
Every photo was taken to capture the frame of energetic athletes of the School, recording every brilliant moment. Retouching photos again and again, the School’s media men made efforts to spread the objective truth. They rushed ahead in the sports field to provide news of high quality.
On the playground, athletes are the focus of the public and shining points or even the king in the field. However, there are also a team of people who dedicate silently, doing ordinary but essential work and task. “Remain true to our original aspiration to achieve our dream, fulfill our youthfulness and become independent.” Those who silently contribute behind create the story of our year, through the little things that we can’t perceive.
