A grand rally celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China was held in Tian 'anmen square in Beijing on October 1. Xi Jinping, the General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the PRC and chairman of the central military commission, delivered an important speech. The foreign languages institute organized all the teachers and students through various ways to watch the 70th anniversary of the National Day military parade.
At 8 am, each branch of the site organized students to watch the event, and the students were full of energy and enthusiasm, looking forward to witness this great moment and experience being proud and moved as Chinese. Before the start of the parade, CCTV broadcast the real-time movement of Tian 'anmen square, which showed the organization of the troops being paraded, as well as numerous unforgettable scenes in front of and behind the stage, arousing the students' great interests and applauses in the assembly halls.
At 10 am, the ceremony officially began, when the loud and clear “national anthem of the People's Republic of China”began, the students in each assembly hall all stood up, singing along with the national anthem. When general secretary Xi Jinping's parade car slowly drove out of the Tian 'anmen rostrum, the celebration got quite hilarious, and the halls was filled with thunderous applause. In the whole troop and mass parade live, the students enthusiastic applauses and excited cheers reached the climax again and again.
After the ceremony, the teachers and students expressed their deep emotions.
Li Yun, party secretary of the foreign languages institute, said: “National Day military parade let us experience the moving scene, feel the great power of the national and military prestige, feel the noble and righteous spirit of the Chinese nation and reveal our strong national strength. Despite 70 years of wind and rain, the Chinese nation has made great strides since it have stood up, become rich and become strong. As a party worker in the university, I will never forget my original intention, keep in mind my mission, and make contributions to the ‘two centenary goals’ and the realization of the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.”
Yang Lingzhen, deputy secretary of the party committee of the college, said: “When listening to general secretary Xi's speech, my heart is really surging and my eyes are blurred. Today's happiness is the repayment of the generation after generation’s Chinese people struggling. Looking back on the history, there are a lot of shocking coordinates. It is just these tears, blood and sweat that helped build the achievements of today's peace and security. We should pay tribute to the republic, pay tribute to every struggling you and me! “Patriotism is never a form, it is a kind of emotional sublimation from the inside-out, it is a kind of action consciousness,”said teacher Wang Li, a 2017 instructor in the English department of the foreign languages institute and secretary of the second party branch of the undergraduate students of the school. 70 years National Day military parade is a strong stimulation to us, the prosperity of the motherland is a strong honor to us. French major student Bian Huali said: “Watching the 70th anniversary of the birthday of our motherland National Day celebration, a strong national confidence and pride arises from my heart spontaneously. I saw a netizen's comment on the Internet: ‘life is so comfortable that I have forgotten that our country has just been founded for 70 years.’In a short 70 years, China has achieved a historical leap from standing up to becoming rich to becoming strong. Our new generation of communists should always keep in mind our original intention and mission. I wish that our motherland should become stronger and stronger and loved by the world. So, I have to redouble my efforts, learning foreign languages, Chinese knowledge and the world’s knowledge, letting more and more people see China, understand China and love China.”
Japanese major student Zhang Donghui said: “On October 1, 1949, the founding ceremony of the People's Republic of China was grandly held in Beijing Tian 'anmen square, and the first military parade was also displayed in front of the world. Through the window of the parade, Tian 'anmen has witnessed the development of new China from 1949 onwards, the people's life became more and more prosperous, and the international status of the PRC became higher and higher. It is like the guard bar when you come across a bridge over the abyss, you won't be frightened about falling down.From my perspective，I am proud of being one of the Chinese strivers, and living in tremendous Huaxia. Grade 2017 English major students, probationary party member Wang Yixue said: “As a probationary party member, watching the parade makes me feel more honored to join the communist party of China! When the mass parade with chairman MAO's portrait on the Tiananmen rostrum appeared, I deeply felt the collision between history and modern times. Generations of strivers, sacrificing with their ambition, are all daring to call the world to turn into a new day! No matter the manners is strong or soft, compatible or inclusive, although people are from various professions and trades, different genders and ages, having diverse aspirations, we all hope our motherland greater!”
Grade 2017 English major students, probationary party member Wang Shutong said: “‘Meet the party command, win battles, work desperately.’ listening to the slogan shouted by the soldiers over and over again, I can't help but stand respectfully, a deep sense of pride and a sense of security arises spontaneously from my heart. Because I know, it is not just a slogan, but the vows the group of hot-blood boys made to their motherland, to the Chinese people. The navy, air force, army, rocket force, strategic support force, armored force, armed police, peacekeeping force, etc., these diverse kinds of army fighting in all places on our motherland, together constitute the most solid shield of the Chinese people, which makes us proud of the Chinese people's liberation army! The National day parade fully demonstrated the unity and confidence of the Chinese nation, the prosperity of the country and the harmony and stability of the society. Reviewing the 70-year course of new China, we can see that China's overall national strength has grown significantly and its position in the world has gradually improved a lot under the correct leadership of the communist party of China.
