A traveler named “Beard Jason” sighed in his diary when staying in Myanmar:
“When you take off your shoes and socks,
walking through pagodas with bared feet;
sometimes feeling damp and moist,
but sometimes feeling hot like stepping in fire.
And somehow you’ll realize how small you are.
The body underneath your fancy clothes,
is just one of the most original dust in the universe.
In Myanmar, there is no such thing as poorness and wealth,
only belief exists forever.”

In Myanmar, the universal religion nationality, young monks wearing frock can be seen everywhere. During the lifetime of Burmese, almost everyone has experienced being a monk. Some children go to work during the summer vacation in our country, while Burmese children choose to be monks in holidays. The time of becoming a monk is a free option, for only one month or several years even for a whole life are all okay. Myanmar men, those who have not been monks in their lives will be looked down upon, have no status in society, and even have no qualifications to marry.
在缅甸这个全民信教的国度，随处可见身着僧服的小和尚。缅甸人的一生中，几乎每个人都有出家的经历。中国的孩子暑假去打工，而缅甸的孩子暑假则去当和尚。出家的时间可以自由选择，短则一个月，长则若干年甚至一生。而缅甸男人如果一生中没有出家的经历，那就会被人瞧不起，在社会上没有地位，甚至连结婚的资格都没有。
In this Buddhist country, majestic pagodas can be seen everywhere. Only when you get here will you understand the meaning of belief. Muddy paths, shabby buildings, diffuse dust. But things hiding behind the poorness, are truly the most precious for Myanmar: kindness, contentment and plain.
在缅甸这个佛国，庄严的佛塔随处可见。只有当亲历此处，你才会明白何谓信仰。泥泞的道路，破旧的建筑，弥漫的尘土。那些隐藏在贫穷背后的标签，才是缅甸人民最大的财富——善良，知足，质朴。
