On March 6, the Symposium for 2025 Undergraduate Students Who Transferred Majors was held in Classroom 101 of the School of Law, CCNU. Wan Zong, Deputy Secretary of the School Party Committee, and Xiao Denghui, Vice Dean of the School, attended the meeting. Also present were Chen Li and Chen Wei, head teachers of the 2025 undergraduate students; Li Hui, Li Xiao, Chang Yusha and Zhai Yuxiang, academic advisors for 2025 undergraduates; Wang Yanshu, undergraduate academic secretary of the School; counselors for 2025 undergraduates; representatives of 2024 undergraduates; and 20 students from the 2025 cohort who transferred into the School of Law. The meeting was hosted by Gao Tingyi, part-time counselor for undergraduate students.

At the beginning of the meeting, the 20 new students joining the School of Law spoke one after another. They introduced themselves, shared their hobbies, original aspirations for choosing the School of Law, and future plans, while also raising questions and confusions encountered in study and daily life. Liu Kaifeng and Jiang Linlu, representatives of 2024-grade students who had transferred majors, shared their experience based on their own experiences, covering mentality adjustment, learning methods, scientific research and competitions, social practice, student work and other aspects.

Wang Yanshu introduced the undergraduate talent training program, gave detailed explanations on issues of common concern, and encouraged students to communicate actively with teachers both online and offline.

During the discussion session, Xiao Denghui emphasized that the key to studying law lies in cultivating legal logical thinking and conducting analysis and application on the basis of understanding legal principles. He encouraged students to consolidate their professional foundation and strive to become new-era legal talents with solid theoretical literacy. Undergraduate academic advisors and head teachers exchanged ideas with students regarding academic adaptation and development plans, put forward specific suggestions, and responded to the questions raised by the students.

In his speech, Wan Zong extended a warm welcome to the new students who had transferred to the School of Law and conveyed greetings from Zhang Yang, Secretary of the School Party Committee, and Ding Wen, Dean of the School. Wan Zong put forward three expectations for the students: First, focus on academic learning and consolidate the professional foundation to become outstanding legal professionals; Second, actively participate in practice and improve comprehensive qualities to become well-rounded legal professionals; Third, persist in physical exercise and develop good habits to become physically and mentally healthy legal professionals.
