The Voice of CCNU To further enhance the theoretical research capabilities of counselors and promote their professional, vocational and expert development, the 2025 Summer Academic Camp for Counselors (Phase II) of Central China Normal University was successfully held at Central South University in Changsha, Hunan Province from July 12th to July 17th. Li Diao, Director of the Ideological and Political Affairs Office of the Student Affairs Department, Zhu Feng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Chemistry, and 11 full-time and part-time counselors from various colleges participated in the camp.
On the afternoon of July 12th, the opening ceremony was held at the Academic Exchange Center of Central South University. Li Diao, the director of the Ideological and Political Education Division of the Party Committee's Student Affairs Department, attended and delivered a motivational speech. He first affirmed the enthusiasm of the counselors for actively participating in academic research, and pointed out: "You have accumulated rich practical experience in your daily work. Transforming these cases into academic achievements can not only enhance your theoretical level but also provide useful references for ideological and political work in colleges and universities." Then, he put forward three expectations: First, cherish the concentrated research time, efficiently advance the research of the topics, and form high-quality academic achievements; second, pay attention to the combination of theory and practice, ensure the practical value of the research results, and transform the research results into practical wisdom that promotes the high-quality development of ideological and political work in colleges and universities; third, strictly abide by the discipline, ensure safety and order, focus on research with peace of mind, and strive to produce more achievements.
During the activity, the counselors, based on their individual research plans, focused on the practical issues in the ideological and political work of universities and carried out special writing and discussions. The summer camp promoted cross-institutional exchanges through group discussions and experience sharing. The participating teachers generally reported that the closed research environment enabled them to effectively eliminate distractions and fully devote themselves to academic research. Through ideological exchanges, new research ideas were stimulated.
After the event, the counselors all expressed that the summer academic summer camp would bring together the counselors who are dedicated to theoretical and practical research to conduct closed learning and academic creation. This increased the opportunities for in-depth learning and academic discussion and exchange, allowing the counselors to be relieved from the numerous daily tasks and focus on writing project proposals, papers, cases, and other academic achievements. It provided a favorable platform for the counselors to enhance their research capabilities.
It is reported that the school has held summer academic summer camps for two consecutive years. Through the training model of "concentrated study + academic creation + achievement transformation "， it continuously empowers counselors to develop into professional， specialized and expert-level personnel.
