The Voice of CCNU On the afternoon of April 11th, the 8th Counselor Salon of Central China Normal University in 2025 was held in Room 401 of the New Liberal Arts Building. This salon is hosted by the Party Committee's Student Affairs Department (Graduate Affairs Department) and organized by the School of Mathematics and Statistics. The salon was presented by Shen Yanfei, the deputy editor-in-chief of the "College Counselor" journal and a professor at the School of Marxism of Shandong University. It was hosted by Yang Kejun, the deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Mathematics and Statistics. More than 20 full-time and part-time counselors from the entire university participated.
Based on his years of academic accumulation as a core journal editor and reviewer, Shen Yanfei comprehensively expounded on the core competencies and practical requirements needed for academic paper writing from three aspects: cultural inheritance, thinking cultivation, and action implementation. He dissected the elements of the paper in a meticulous manner, from the formulation of the title, the extraction of the abstract, the logic of the introduction, the argumentation of the main text, the summary of the conclusion to the standardization of references. He transformed the experience of editing and review into a visual operation guide, vividly demonstrating how to increase the acceptance rate of paper submission and providing practical and efficient writing suggestions for the teachers present.
During the interactive communication session, the attending teachers engaged in an interactive exchange with Shen Yanfei on specific issues such as the topic selection direction in thesis writing and journal submission, creating a lively atmosphere on the spot. In his summary, Yang Kejun expressed his gratitude to the speaker for the systematic methodological guidance and immersive case teaching. He particularly pointed out that this sharing session provided a powerful tool for counselors to break through in scientific research. He hoped that more counselors could combine the actual situation of their daily work, further improve their writing skills, achieve high-quality academic transformation of teaching and research results, and produce more high-level academic achievements.
