In order to awaken the awareness of graduate students' career planning and adapt to the life of the new semester faster, on February 29, the School of Sociology held the first lesson of the semester with the theme of "Career guidance, planning sailing". Graduate counselor Zhai Juan presided over the activity, and all sociology graduate students in 2022 participated.
At the beginning of the class, Ms. Zhai shared some interesting things about the winter vacation in a simple and relaxed atmosphere. She thanked the sanitation workers, community volunteers, armed police forces and other personnel for their efforts in ensuring the smooth roads during the holiday, and praised the party volunteers who actively participated in the school's snow shoveling activities. In the disaster of snow and rain, they warmed this special winter with practical actions.
New journey, new requirements. According to the preliminary research on the students' ideological dynamics, Ms. Zhai pointed out that the class has two major tasks at present, one is the thesis proposal, the other is the employment choice.
Regarding the thesis proposal arrangement, teacher Zhai Juan suggested that they should constantly improve the ability to combine theory and practice, pay attention to the arrangement of time nodes, take the thesis proposal seriously, make a good personal thesis writing plan, communicate with the tutor more ideas and progress of the thesis, and strive for high-quality completion of the thesis.
For grasping the job search direction, Ms. Zhai took the employment destination table of 2023 graduates as an example to remind students that they should make career planning according to their own arrangements, pay attention to relevant recruitment information in advance, and understand the requirements of different professions and job search processes. In the new semester, they should combine their own characteristics to further clarify their own job search goals. At the same time, students should also continue to improve resume writing, communication skills and interview skills and other employment skills, to improve the overall ability to find a job.
At the end of the course, Zhai Juan hoped that everyone can further realize the unity of knowledge and action, ride the wind and waves, follow the trend, take active actions, think about their career planning, and grasp the opportunities of the new stage. At the same time, she reminded everyone that in the new semester,they should still improve the awareness of fraud, beware of telecom fraud, turn off the power when there is no one in the dormitory and pay attention to the safety of electricity consumption.
