The Voice of CCNU To ring out the old year and ring in the new year, and to welcome the Dragon Year, on the noon of February 7th, the school held the New Year’s Eve reunion banquet for students staying at school during winter vacation at the Chinese restaurant on the first floor of Guiyuan Hotel. Headmaster Peng Shuangjie, Vice Headmaster Chen Yuzhou, Chen Diming, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee, and representatives of relevant functional departments, party and government leaders and counselors of colleges merrily gathered with nearly 130 students to welcome the arrival of the Year of the Dragon. The activity was hosted by Li Diao, Deputy Minister of Office of Students Affairs.
In order to create a warm and happy festive atmosphere for students staying at school during winter vacation, the school had carefully prepared sumptuous and delicious New Year banquet, heartfelt New Year gift packages, and heartwarming New Year red envelopes. School leaders Peng Shuangjie, Ren Youzhou, and Chen Diming presented heartfelt New Year gift packages to 10 representatives of students staying at school from different colleges.
Headmaster Peng Shuangjie, on behalf of the school, extended holiday greetings and sincere New Year greetings to students staying at school during winter vacation. “School is students’ home, and teachers are their families.” Peng Shuangjie said that in order to ensure that students staying at school can have a peaceful and happy year, the school had attached great importance to it. Various functional departments worked together and multiple measures had been taken to care for students staying at school in all aspects, ensuring that everyone can have a warm, peaceful and happy year at school. At the same time, he reminded students to pay attention to their safety due to the cold weather recently, and to keep in touch with their families to make them feel at ease. Finally, he wished the teachers and students to achieve happiness, health and further progress in the new year.
The atmosphere was warm and joyful, with characteristic dishes steaming hot on the dining table. During the meal, school leaders Peng Shuangjie, Ren Youzhou, and Chen Diming came to each table to warmly greet the students and distributed New Year red envelopes which represents auspiciousness and safety.
Teachers and students from all colleges gathered together to talk about the the Year of Dragon and wish a happy New Year. The students expressed their gratitude to the school leaders and teachers for their warm affection, and felt the strong New Year atmosphere and the warmth of home at school.
It was reported that Office of Students Affairs actively organized deputy party secretaries and counselors of various colleges to closely contact and in-depth care for students staying at school and to timely solve their problems in study and life. The Security Office implemented a 24-hour duty system, strengthened campus patrols and safety prevention management of student dormitories, and built safety barriers. The Logistics Support Department had strengthened management of student community and opened meal ordering and delivery services for students at Nanhu Campus. In addition, the school cafeteria will also provide free dining services for all students staying at school on New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, and the second day of the Lunar New year.
