On November 27th, the School of Information and Journalism held the seminar of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee spirit in the Media Center on the 8th floor of the Tin Ka Ping. The seminar was given by Zha Daolin, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of our school and hosted by Luo Yiwen, the Secretary of the Party Committee of School of Information and Journalism. The whole faculty of the School and the Propaganda Department of the School Party Committee attended this seminar.
Secretary Zha Daolin Was Speaking
The seminar took the guideline of building a socialist modern country as the core, developed with the introduction to the overall situation, the interpretation of the main achievements of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee and how to learn and practice it, and aimed to deeply learn the spirit of the Session.
Secretary Luo Yiwen Attended the Seminar
Zha Daolin firstly emphasized the meaning of the Session. He briefly introduced the main achievements of the Session and emphasized the historical and global significance from the perspectives of history, development, theory and work guidance. The historical significance was based on historical intersection and the great change of the development environment, and the global significance lay in the work guidance of the theoretical achievements with Chinese characteristics and long-term goals.
Zha Daolin made a multiple-angled and comprehensive interpretation of the CPC Central Committee's Proposals to Formulate the 14th Five-Year Plan for National Economic, Social Development and the 2035 Vision. He pointed out that the New and High were the important characteristics of the results of this document.
The New was in the new journey, new goals, new economic advantages, new development patterns, new urbanization and new openings. And the High was in the high level of openness, high quality of life and high level of safe China which were concluded in the nine aspects. Besides, Zha Daolin also interpreted the long-term goal of basically realizing socialist modernization by 2035, by taking China's present and future as the context.
The Faculty of the School and the Propaganda Department of the School Party Committee Attended This Seminar
With regard to how to implement the spirit of the seminar, Zha Daolin offered three requirements which were “grasping the core meaning, doing a good job in learning and publicity, and implementing practically”. In response to the characteristics and advantages of the School Information and Journalism, Zha Daolin also emphasized the real learning and use of “prosperously developing the cultural career and industry, improving the national cultural soft power”, and hoped that the School could work hard to intensify the subject cultural soft power, and to do well in the fifth subject assessment.
