On the morning of May 1st, Wang Yu, Vice President of the Youth Volunteer Association in School of Chemistry, and three assistants led 20 volunteers to jointly carry out the first day of volunteering service at Wuhan Railway Station. The purpose of this event was to help out passengers with problems about going to stations and buying tickets during the holiday, so as to facilitate their travel.
In order to ensure that the volunteering service activity goes well, the Youth Association in School of Chemistry organized relevant training for the volunteer on the evening of April 28th, which elaborated on the structure of the railway station and common problems and also designed a small test to help volunteers better remember the knowledge.
During the event, many tourists who came to Wuhan during the holiday asked one of the volunteers Zhang Linlin about the details of Wuhan University, Yellow Crane Tower and other places. Zhang Linlin answered them one by one patiently. After hearing the conversation, some passengers also turned to ask other similar questions. When getting accurate answers, the passengers smiled and called Zhang Linlin "little boy", expressing their gratitude.
And volunteer Fu Liuzheng met with a question that he could not give an accurate answer. Meanwhile, another volunteering team from CCNU, Little Orange Lantern, was also participating in volunteering service activity at Wuhan Railway Station. So Fu Liuzheng immediately sought help from the volunteers of the team Little Orange Lantern nearby. After discussion, the volunteers from both sides quickly gave the answer for the passengers.
Although volunteers had made full preparations before, they still continued to observe around their scope of responsibility in the early stage of the activity, for the structure of Wuhan Railway Station is more complex. Faced with the questions about the platform, exit, temporary replacement of identity cards, luggage storage and so on, the volunteers all gave the answers as soon as possible while ensuring the accuracy.
